The Canton Electrical JATC accepts applications online all year long. We have made some updates to our process, so please read the information below for the minimum requirements and the documentation you will need to submit with your application. Eligibility

APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be 18 years of age by July 1, of current year.
  2. Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D. by July 1, of current year.
  3. Must have one full credit of High School or College Algebra with a passing grade.
  4. Must be capable of passing a drug screen if accepted.
  5. Proof of a valid driver’s license.

Documentation Needed:

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE REQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED WITH YOUR APPLICATION:

  1. OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT:  A legible OFFICIAL (to be considered official, your transcript must have your school’s raised seal or a signature by a school official) transcript of your completed high school courses and showing grades received, or high school equivalency or GED certificate. In lieu of either of those documents, a two-year associate degree or higher will be acceptable. Transcripts may be mailed directly to our office, sent electronically to our jatc@cantonjatc.org email, or delivered to our facility placed in our mailbox in a seal envelope at the entrance of the building. Please call the office if you have any questions.
  2. A copy of your Driver’s License, this may be uploaded through the website.
  3. Reference Letters, although no longer required, are highly recommended and may be submitted through the application website. Any letter submitted does need to be signed and dated by the author of the letter or they will not be accepted.

You will have 30 days to complete the application and submit the above items. All items must be submitted online with the exception of your transcripts, those must be submitted as described above. Applications are accepted all year, however you must have a COMPLETE application by April 15th no later than 4:00 PM of the current year to be eligible for that years apprenticeship classes. If the 15th lands on a weekend then all items need to be submitted by 4:00 PM on the Monday immediately following the 15th. To have a complete application, you must complete all steps of the application process which includes having all supporting documentation submitted and verified by our office.
